Default Only Fools And Horses Blu-Ray

Who would buy this if it came to Blu-Ray. Does any one think it can make the leap to HD.

Wasn't most of the show shot on film.

don't know, I have the DVDs and a couple of years ago when I re-watched some episodes they looked very dated and I did not find them as funny as I remembered it to be.

What I can recall from watching the series, the exteriors were shot on 16mm while the studio shots were using PAL cameras. So while the exteriors would kinda benefit from the resolution, you can't do anything about the PAL video. The final cuts were edited on PAL too.

If it ever was released on BD, then all you can hope for is 480p/576p.

This one is pretty high on my all time wish list though I know it's going to be almost impossible that it would see the light of day.

Didn't BBC mess up the complete dvd collection with shorter cuts of episodes and different music in the episodes.
UK Gold on sky show the original aired episodes everyday but i can never see this coming to blu ray.

Although the vast majority of the show was shot on video, they could do a BD out of the 1985 special 'To Hull And Back' which was shot entirely on film without audience. The 2nd part of 'Miami Twice' was on film as well, although big bits of the 1st part was on video. There's also a 1982 mini episode called 'Christmas Trees', never repeated or released on VHS or DVD - if they could find the film of that and put it onto BD it would be a good selling point.

Yep, the current DVD masters date before the new arrangement for music, so there's many little cuts going through the series. And GOLD are now using those same masters for their repeats, so you can't even see those on TV now. Daft state of affairs.

I would certainly buy this on Blu-Ray. I think that everything that is currently released on DVD should (and eventually will) be converted to Blu-Ray. Especially when DVD technology is completely phased out.

Personally, I'm hoping for Minder. Shot on 16mm. And not the censored cuts currently sold in the UK.

Only 1 or 2 were shot on film, and a few parts of others so not sure if it's worth it
