Signal One Entertainment was supposed to release this one on October 29th but considering it's already October 13th and there haven't been any updates in regards to this release since it's first been announced, my question is: is this still happening this month? Or this year? Does anyone have any information?

Yep

Signal One themselves said that its been delayed until next year and other titles have replaced it in the schedule. They did reassure those of us wanting Nightmare Alley and The Gunfighter that we're definitely getting them and they are just delayed.

Probably not enough preorders because their price was way too high.

thanks for the fast replies, guys. Well, guess I'll have to wait a little longer then! It's not like there aren't enough other movies to buy untill then!

Think it's probably just assembling the extras and signing everything off. They've managed to squeeze The Boston Strangler and Hudson Hawk into the 2 for £25 offer at HMV so those pre-orders will pick up soon (both are out within the next few weeks). Red Rock West and The Fan are now coming in January (looking forward to the Dahl). I imagine their Sony deal clashed with their Fox one, meaning they had to re-jig the schedule to get more commercial titles out first.

Still, I can't wait to finally get Nightmare Alley. I missed out on the MoC DVD and they never upgraded it. I'm looking forward to The Gunfighter even more - supposedly they interviewed Alex Cox for that disc (on my recommendation, in fact).

And speaking of first-rate Fox westerns starring Gregory Peck, Twilight Time in the US has just released The Bravados, directed by Henry King and lensed by the great Leon Shamroy. Wouldn't it be nice if at least this TT release didn't just vanish into the OOP night like the dozens-upon-dozens of other Fox titles they've released and which it appears that no-one outside the US has ever even attempted to licence?

The UK rights aren't available. Either someone already has it, or Fox aren't for letting anyone release The Bravados over here.

Nah, it would have went down to £14.99 (perhaps even 2 for £25) by release day.

Went to their website and searched for Nightmare Alley, The Gunfighter & Let's Make Love. Result for all three was No Results Found. Hopefully they will pop up next year. Was really looking forward to The Gunfighter.

Last heard, all of them had been pushed back to January next year. Though whether that's still the case I'm not sure.

If it wasn't a venerable classic when it was first announced for release, it sure as hell will be by the time it arrives......

Here's hoping that's just a preliminary date and not final. I was kind of hoping more March as the latest but May
