Need to see this, but think I'll skip it's theatrical release.
I don't want to go in expecting the awesomeness of the first, this way I can enjoy it even if it's not as good

Not as good as the first, but if you're a fan of the first, I think you'll mostly-enjoy it. I'll pick it up when/if it hits the $10 range.

The plot is a little more contrived (maybe) then the first, but regardless of the critical reception I laughed my a** off.

Didn't even bother seeing the second.

...have no plans to change that.

The surreal nature of this movie receiving a 4K release is why I did not want to miss out on a potentially rare disc in the future.

It doesn't. The company handling the disc release (Broadgreen Pictures) does not distribute digital codes according to my roomie. He found an article about it.

I haven't been to the store at all this week, does anyone know if this has a slipcover? Or did they cheap out on that as well by not having one?

It doesn’t have a slipcover. I watched it for the first time yesterday and didn't care for it. I'll trade my copy for a Catch Me If You Can blu-ray if anyone is interested.
