Default Star Wars Holiday Special

Just in cast you need something to watch while waiting for The Force Awakens. It is the holiday season after all.

The best part is the cartoon that introduces Boba Fett. I'd like that as a bonus feature on a future Blu-ray edition of the films. The rest I can do without.

That Boba Fett cartoon is actually pretty cool.

The rest of the show will make you feel nauseous, though.

Oh, cool. I thought I remembered reading that a clip was shown in one of the documentaries, but didn't know the whole cartoon was included. I've yet to buy any of the Blu-ray releases.

I still can't get the image out of my mind of Chewie's dad tripping out to a "holo porn" starring Diahann Carroll inviting him to "experience" her.

The only thing worth seeing in this is the small animated cartoon with the introduction of Boba Fett.

A remake would pr0badbly be a lot better this time around. Wouldn't be as cheesy or cheap that's for sure.

Man would I love a fully restored Blu of this thing. It would also be fun to figure out how to market it. You don't want to trick casual moviegoers into thinking it's something worth watching or newly produced in the wake of the new spinoffs, but you don't want to put "This is a piece of **** TV special intended for collectors and for fans to watch ironically" on the slipcover either.

No, they won't remake it. But they will probably have some almost equally awful holiday special for next year, just before the first anthology movie comes out.

I haven't seen this in awhile, but I think Boba Fett's short cartoon was possibly in the first half of the show.

Maude (Beatrice Arthur) serving drinks to the guy with the cup formed on his head (from the Carrol Burnett show, Harvey Korman) was comical, as she pours the drink directly into the top of his skull. For a quickly pieced together Holiday special in response to the initial success of Star Wars, it's entertaining just to see the creatures assembled together like that, even if it's far out from what we'd expect in Star Wars.
