I almost bought the DVD of this last month, because I given up hope of a possible blu-ray release. One of my favorite movie of the early 90's!

Couldn`t remember this movie at all, so I just watched the trailer and it looks like my kind of film!

So happy to see this is getting released. All time favorite of mine. The cast is amazing, everyone in this is great. You can feel the pain just watching it. And the ending....awesome.

Since there are no new extras, and KL never does any restoration of any kind, I'm re watching the DVD now, to see how it's held up, and if I desire an "upgrade," or not.

DVD appears to be OOP too...?

Lucky me, still looks and sounds great, Oppo upscales nicely.

I agree! This IS another one of my favorite movies, although I never really understood why. The subject matter was always a concern for me. But the movie itself is outstanding...and I'll definitely add it to my rapidly growing Blu-Ray collection this summer! COOL!

Only 10 comments in this thread? Geez...I thought this movie was a bit more well known.

I thought this was an excellent movie and I own it on DVD.

It's a pity the blu-ray is so expensive. $26 is the cheapest I could find it on Ebay for and the delivery is about $32. Really? $32 delivery for a blu-ray? Why? I like the movie but it's not worth nearly $60. I'd happily pay $20.

This. I've had a thing for her since I saw Fast Times at Ridgemont High as a kid.

Every time I think of buying this the BRDC review makes me think it won't be any better than my DVD (heresy, I know

). BD-25, my ass! Low bit-rate, low volume, what'd they save on a BD-50, 5 cents!?

Anyone out there own both and have an opinion as far as an upgrade goes?

I'm pleased with the transfer but disappointed with the quiet audio. I don't own the dvd but I compared the audio to when RUSH was on Netflix Streaming and the audio was louder on streaming unfortunately.

The audio was pretty low on the DVD as well, whatever that means.

Reason why this doesn't look so great in HD is because it uses an older MGM HD master, riddled with the usual issues of EE, scanner noise, and a magenta push.

Thats odd. I haven't read any comments on if the Blu ray is the same volume but the review on here states the volume is unusually low for the Blu ray.
