An odd event to get so furious about. I have a hard time taking many metalheads serious on this considering how many I've seen overlook if not celebrate the murders and church-burnings associated with the so-called second wave of black metal. As for the guy who made the video I can't say. He may have been just as condemnatory of those actions.

Three things I must quibble with. He says that according to everyone Darrell was an upstanding guy. How much of the positive words about him can be attributed to his tragic death? There are taboos against talking ill of the dead especially those who died early. Don of the Dead (vocalist for Nunslaughter) said that when Chuck Schuldiner (also mentioned in the video) was alive, he didn't know anyone who liked the guy, but that completely changed once he died, something which is also contended by Asphyx frontman Martin Van Drunen.

Then the focus on the quality of Nuclear Hellfrost's music. That's irrelevant. First, I'm not sure the guy has listened to their music (much like everyone else). More importantly, the implication is that were they great musicians that would change the morality of their actions. Would it be okay for Iron Maiden or Motorhead to desecrate Dimebag Darrell's grave? Another interpretation could be that he's judging their music as bad based on their actions which would evoke the corresponding question, would Iron Maiden's music suddenly suck were they to desecrate Darrell's grave?

Lastly, his bemoaning of the fact that (some) talented people die early while (some) untalented people live long. Can't imagine that someone could just be noticing the fact that the universe is not fair and the length of a person's life is not directly correlated to their talent as a musician. I say this as someone who's used Amy Winehouse as his avatar for at least a year.

Thank you Cat III for talking sense.

1 - The guy didn't actually even deface the grave, it was just a peice of paper
2 - He is not in Nuclear HellFrost, he is the EX singer
3 - That photo floating around of people pissing on the Dime mural/memorial thing isn't even Nuc Hell. Its some other band called HOD or something.

This is what this incident makes Pantera fans looks like (and it makes me mad because I am a Pantera fan):

Seriously, a bunch of people running around threatening some band and some dude with bodily harm while quoting terrible, wanna-be tough guy Pantera lyrics really just grinds my gears.

Thanks for the additional info, c1nn1c. Like most internet stories, the initial details turn out very different from the truth. That's a great Onion article too, but there are plenty of those.
