given its a searchlight and Yorgos release it seems unlikely but I would love this movie to break that trend - it looked so beautiful on the big screen that it deserves the best quality release - cannot wait to revisit this at home

Film Synopsis
From filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos and producer Emma Stone comes this incredible tale and fantastical evolution of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone), a young woman brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter’s protection, Bella is eager to learn. Hungry for the worldliness she is lacking, Bella runs off with Duncan Wedderburn (Mark Ruffalo), a slick and debauched lawyer, on a whirlwind adventure across the continents. Free from the prejudices of her times, Bella grows steadfast in her purpose to stand for equality and liberation. Also starring Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott and Jerrod Carmichael, “Poor Things” was written by Tony McNamara, based on the book by Alasdair Gray, and produced by Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone.

No 4K Blu-ray release. Rest of the world is the same. Otherwise I would have made a topic.

No 4K for this visually stunning film is tragic.

Pretty f*cking sick of Disney not releasing 20th Century Studios titles on 4K UHD, especially high profile titles and awards contenders. It's baffling.

I would love this in 4k but Searchlight releasing a bluray at all is unfortunately never a guarantee anymore so I'm thankful we're at least getting that

They recently released 20th Century's 'The Creator' on 4K. It's a big sci fi film with tons of visual effects so I guess they figured there would be more of a market for a 4K UHD than a quirky artsy movie like Poor Things. A good indication whether a Disney movie gets a 4K seems to be if they put it theatrically on large format premium screens like IMAX, etc.

I’m cautiously optimistic for a Blu-ray release for All Of Us Strangers, but wouldn’t be surprised if there wasn’t one.

Poor Things is definitely a day one buy for me. Sad it won’t get a 4K but I wasn’t expecting it.

That's how I feel these days.

I can't wait to see the cover art that they choose.

It's the usual "boys with toys" kinda thinking re: 4K's demographic spread, that sci-fi is what will appeal to the 4K crowd (tho it's ironical that The Creator's UHD is panned by most because it has lots of grain and doesn't "pop" (ugh)) and while I wouldn't necessarily dispute their viewpoint it's still a shame that so many of these smaller 'award season' type movies don't get released on 4K in general. The streamers gatecrashing the whole process hasn't helped because they won't often allow such prized marketing assets to be available in a form for people to actually buy and own (though there are always examples to the contrary here and there, maybe through sheer moviemaker force of will to demand it gets a physical release, plus whatever funny distribution deals were inked in whatever random country).

Someone in the industry on twitter who works on physical media said that All of Us Strangers is not getting a blu, someone posted about it in that movie's thread

At least with bluray I’ll know that 99.99% it will play with no issues

4K? Roll the dice…
