Default Blu Ray Movies bundles in PS3 games!

Maybe...according to the rumormill over at highdef digest:

http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/news...with_Games/241

Quote:
The countdown to the U.S. release of Sony's Blu-ray enabled PlayStation 3 on November 17 is on, with online speculation surrounding the next-gen game console growing with every passing day.
A photo that supposedly depicts the packaging for PlayStation 3 games began making the rounds online over the weekend, and is notable for its prominent Blu-ray branding:

Whether or not this photo is authentic and not a photoshopped fake remains to be seen, but sources say that Sony does plan on extending the Blu-ray branding familiar to early high-def disc adopters to their PS3 game packaging.
Meanwhile, industry sources are whispering that Sony may bundle one or more Blu-ray movie titles with some of their early PS3 game titles in an effort to introduce the next-gen dvd format to the masses.
When (and if) any of this information is confirmed, we'll let you know. Stay tuned!

They need to include Spiderman 1 or 2. You know they will re-release both of these later as a "BD Superbit".

And we'll all buy it.

I like how prominent the BD labels are all over the place.

Excellent. You couldn't miss 'em if you tried.

I think they need to make it a big budge movie that they can be sure most people would watch and then be blown away by.

I'm pretty sure that Sonic box has been proved to be fake.

The Da Vinci Code is due Nov. 14. Three days before PS3's launch, so perhaps that? But that's not really a movie that would fully showcase BD's HD video. So I'm thinking, if the rumor is true, Spider-Man 2. Similar to how they bundled Spidey 1 with the first million PSPs.

.

The Blu-ray version has been delayed and will not be out Nov. 14. Early word is it'll appear sometime in Q1 2007. The delay is due to getting some nice java interactive features on it.

I think it would be better for Sony to put a movie sampler BR disc in every PS3 then have BR titles included with games. The latter would be unnecessary IMO and could increase game prices.

This is def very interesting to see if they can actually do it. It would have to be a 50GB disc for sure.

I would really like this is they gave you a kick ass deal for the disc. Maybe make it$70 instead of $60, so you getting the movie for only 10 bucks.

But you should def get a choice whether or not you want to movie so if you owned it already..blah blah blah. you know what im getting at.

The Blu-ray games will come in Blu-Ray cases. Even die hard, numb nut PS3 gamers will associate Blu-Ray movies to PS3, and buy them even if they got a SDTV from the 90's conected to PS3 via RF unit (hey for all playstation users with an HDTV there are 5 more that still use SDTV) . It's all a part of Sony's master plan.

Games will not come with movies, Sony never did that with their UMD's, and will not do that with Blu-Ray movies. UMD was a good concept, but people don't like to buy same movie twice. People found large memory sticks quite cheap, and their are lots of easy apps to throw downloaded and ripped videos on the PSP.

Blu-Ray is the future of movies, and playstation 3 fans will swear by it. It's a walk in the park for Sony to sell all 400,000 unit's at launch. That's 400,000 people who will eventualy buy Blu-Ray movies even if games were their primary focus.
