Talking 3D Comedies / Comedy Movies on Blu-ray 3D

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any good 3D comedy movies. I have a decent sized collection (about 120), and the only comedies I see are Harold and Kumar, as well as the Three Stooges shorts. I know there is also a Little Rascals disk.

What else is out there? It seems to be a genre that under utilizes the format.

There are absolutely loads of 3D animated comedies. Also Yogi Bear, Cats and Dogs 2, The Smurfs 1 and 2 etc.

To be more specific, I meant live action. It seems like a genre that would be good for pop-out.

Sounds like you've probably seen them all. There's not many true comedies out there.

Others:
  • Kiss Me Kate
  • Fright Night
  • Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
  • Drive Angry
  • Journey to the Center of the Earth

Ah, in that case then I agree, they are few and far between for live action

3D is considered appropriate for certain genres like animation, fantasy, science fiction, superhero and horror which either create immersive environments, have a kinetic camera style or have stuff (and in the case of superhero films, people) fly at the camera. Comedy, unless it's a genre hybrid with one of the genres I mentioned, is not a visually dynamic genre, so 3D doesn't get used much.

Jackass 3D is a rare exception, because it features stunts which have things and people flying at the camera. Guardians of the Galaxy, which is a superhero and science fiction film first, could also qualify as a comedy.

It would be interesting seeing some comedies in 3D.

I seem to recall finding out that Mel Brooks wants to do a sequel to Spaceballs. That might be a good one to try out in 3D.

Nitro Circus could fit into the comedy category, but a lot of the footage was shot, and is in 2D on the 3D version. Still, the 3D scenes aren't bad, and if you're a fan of NC it is worth a look.

The green hornet in 3d I thought was hilarious. Love Seth Rogen.

Definitely seems that way, but I really liked how Harold and Kumar approached it. They used a fair amouny of pop out, and had fun with it.

"Gulliver's Travels" claims to be "BIG Comedy Fun" on the slip cover... but I don't remember laughing much.

There are some more but they are imports, as Safety Geeks SVI which is a web series from Canada and Box Office 3d from Italy. I consider Final Destination 4 and 5 to be very morbid comedies...especially 5. Drive Angry is also sort of comedic.
