SUFFRAGETTE is an upcoming drama film directed by Sarah Gavron (Brick Lane) and written by Abi Morgan (The Iron Lady, Shame, The Invisible Woman), centers on early members of the British women’s suffrage movement of the late 19th and early 20th century.

With an all-star cast including Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Brendan Gleeson, Anne-Marie Duff, Ben Whishsaw and Meryl Streep as Emmeline Pankhurst, SUFFRAGETTE is the epic and thrilling first film about the remarkable untold story of the real foot soldiers of the Suffragette movement. These women were not primarily from the genteel educated classes, they were working women who had seen peaceful protest achieve nothing.
