Default Need help to burn FW for sammy BDP1000

Ok i got the file from the website is compressed, i extract it and i got another compressed file, extract that one and i get two files
One is 071113_01_Poseidon.RUF
the other is BD1FM29F.SSE

Ok, now which one do i have to burn? i take it the RUF one since is 48MB compare to the SSE. But the question i have is, do i have to rename the file, or do i have to name the disc a specific name? thanks.

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...ess_Manual.pdf

After you extract the first file, you'll have an .iso file. You aren't supposed to "extract" the other files from within that file. It's a CD image file. Use Nero or another disc burning app to burn the image. And you CANNOT just burn the .iso file to disc. You need to use your CD burning app's 'burn disc image' function to do it. Once that's done, the CD will contain the .ruf and .sse files that you accidentally extracted before.

Thanks rader, i figure it out. And yes it was that simple i figure as much, but Samsung f*ck it up for me, their instructions did not macth the file name of the FW once extracted the first time.

The instructions said once the file is extracted you will have an ISO, which i did, but it says that it should look like XXXXX_XX.ISO or somethign similar, X being numbers. But in reality once extracted the ISO looked like this XXXX_Poseidon.ISO so i was like .

Thanks anyways, im doing this for a member of AVS that bought a used BDP1000 and cannot burn the ISO under MacOS, i thought i should help out, i just asked him to pay for the shipping to him He tried to call Samsung, but they wanted a bill of sale to send him the disc, and since he bought it used, well that's that.

You can burn ISOs under MacOS

If the file was zipped, StuffIt will do zip files
