Default Did you see any documentaries in theater as a kid?

I certainly watched many interesting documentaries on tv as a kid, but my favorite documentaries that I saw in the theater were just the Warren Miller ski movies. Then again, this was the 1980s and I dont recall if documentaries played so often in theaters as they do now.

Dude, what's the point of a documentary when you can just read a text book.

I’ve seen numerous ones. Not as a kid really, but more as a teen/adult!

I think I saw a few IMAX documentaries when visiting a science center.

Lots of surf films that my brother used to take me to, growing up in Huntington Beach. He taught me how to surf when I could swim...

Speed (1984) (IMAX documentary) at what was then: Marriott's Great America in Santa Clara, CA. I would have been around 7 at the time.

Mysterious Monsters in 1975. Its a Bigfoot, Loch Ness and Yeti documentary. I was really into that stuff as a kid. Now I can't stand watching those types of shows.

The Late, Great, Planet Earth. I was just a tike, and my mother covered my eyes for what parts I didn't sleep through. Must have been a revival screening since I was born in 1972.
