United Kingdom Journey to the West - Any chance of a UK distributor picking it up?

I know about the Australian release which is region B, but the disc is DD5.1 and looks like a hash job. Compared to the Asian region A releases which look really specced up.

Will go with region A if I have to, but would rather get a UK disc if I could. Any news or info anyone can give?

Thanks,

Richie.

Nope, no UK Blu-ray I'm afraid. New Wave Films have it here and despite asking if they would consider it for Blu-ray (as well as Stray Dogs), they opted for a DVD double-bill release instead. Seems Tsai titles are a tough sell even to an adventurous UK audience, so it wasn't worth the risk or trouble releasing either film on Blu-ray.

Available here (released back in May):

Which "Journey to the West"?

The Stephen Chow period action film or the Tsai Ming Liang film with Denis Lavant set in France?

I received the Hong Kong disc not that long ago. Not a bad disc at all, plus it was dirt cheap from DDDHouse.

There's also a US release from Magnolia, that's also supposedly a decent disc.
