Default PlayStation Plus Price Increase

Saw the title for the sticky and figured it's just to list monthly games but this is more general and important information. IGN article says price is increasing come September 22nd in US and Canada.

It actually sucks because Sony and their online service is terrible in contrast to the cheaper Xbox Live. Ok, maybe not terrible but definitely sub par and they're cheaper. Sony Imo can't be seriously thinking they can justify this under "Improving services" shtick. It's clearly to rip us off even more in terrible international economic conditions.

Ship up Sony you greed tosspots.

As far as I know, in North America PS+ was always $10 cheaper than Xbox Live. Now they will be on par, except in Canada now it's $10 more expensive.

I'll just buy a PS+ card before the price goes up. Maybe this means "better games" in the lineup with a (theoretically) larger budget?

The change from Sony makes Plus and Live the same price.

Horrible. PS+ hasn't been good in a long time. I only need it to play online. 20$ more for Canada?

So once again it's simply Europe that keeps getting screwed for pricing

I noticed Xbox Live in UK could be had for Ł25 or so plenty if times when PS+ was always at best around Ł32 or so. I just think it's disappointing that services prices increase without seeing a real boost in proper network service support

Increased prices are not wanted by anyone, but is $10-$20 really a big deal at the end of the day? Once you get over the shock, and realize you spend more on frivolous things everyday, you realize its not a big deal.

Will anybody honestly be Sacrficing anything in their daily lives to cover this new price of PS+ be it Coffee, Smokes, Lottery Tickets, Lunches or Dinners out?
(Things You Don't Need To Buy Everyday To Survive, But Most People Do Anyways)

We all complain about this but I have a feeling most of us will continue to pay the price, regardless of our *****ing

$10-20 now, perhaps another increase in two years and so on. All the while no new features are offered. When you sit down and think about the product you're paying for in the first place you soon realize it's become way overpriced. The issue with Plus is that you need it for online play. If this was not necessary for online play I think most people that are complaining would cancel and be fine with it.

For the Players™ my ass.

Well, at least for Americans, it's on par with Xbox Live now. I mentioned possibly "better games", but what about better online infrastructure lol? I keep reading comments online where people justified the $10 higher price of Live for a better online experience. But I don't know.

Think of it like rent. Before I owned a home, if I stayed in the same place, my rent would increase every single year, 4-5%. Never in my life did it not increase. And, with that increase, I never got anything more, and in fact, my carpet, paint and appliances were a year older and more worn. It's just the way things are.

Yeah, I don't know either. Xbox Live and PSN run the exact same to me. Always have. Inviting friends was easier in the 360 days, sure, but I really don't see much difference now.

Good thing I stacked till 2020

Seriously though, if it is in fact $69.99 in Canada I'll prob not renue. I don't think PS4 is anywhere near as good as Live services. Wayyy more server side bandwidth goes to Xbox. It clogs the crap outta your other bandwidth for other internet devices when the Xbox is running but worth it if your just on Xbox.

I'm thinking about this, and maybe Netflix is a better analogy, because they also just raised their price. The increase was 11%-25% depending on how long you'd been a customer. But the argument could be made that Netflix is continuously improving their service and always adding more and more original content.

On the flipside, for NA this would be a 20% increase. But with no added benefits? Now, they could announce something in a couple weeks at that event, but if not...

Netflix has its own history. I quit them when they decided to charge me a monthly fee for the privilege of renting BD's and HDDVD's whether I did or not. But really, there are virtually no services that never increase in price. Cost of doing business increases, so you pass it on to the customer. That is a constant.
