I bought The Walking Dead Compendium (book) at $29.99 from Amazon (and not a marketplace seller) and it was delivered on April 7. The price dropped to $19.79 (sold by Amazon and not a marketplace seller) over the weekend but I was unable to contact them this weekend as I was busy with family and work.
The price went up to $35.99 today (April 13). As today is my day off from work, I only got around to contacting Amazon via live chat this morning to see about getting a refund using the Amazon Price Drop guarantee. I thought since the price dropped within the 7 day period of delivery they'd give a refund on the difference ($12.20!). They wouldn't allow it since I didn't contact them when the price was $19.79. The customer rep said that it is their policy to only give a refund if contacted at the time of the price. And since the price increased today to $35.99 they can get not adjust the price. I'm a little miffed. I'm a Prime member and place over a hundred orders a year with them. She said her supervisors helped her arrive at the decision and can not go against the Amazon policy. Was I wrong to think I'd get a refund on this order? Edit: I was polite the entire chat. I did not get rude or nasty with the customer rep. Last edited by solovoyager; 04-13-2015 at 05:50 PM. |
