It’s too bad they don’t do these events in bigger, premium theaters like the Dolby theater or an imax. My set up at home is miles better than the crappy small theaters they show these in around here

OMG!! I thought I would never get the chance to see The Quiet Man in a theatre! Now I have a couple of months to think about whether it's worth taking the risk on Fathom's hit or miss audio/video quality.

A couple of years ago I remember they did a special IMAX engagement of 2001: A Space Odyssey and Apocalypse Now: Final Cut in selected cities. I also remember seeing Schindler's List in Dolby Cinema for the 25th anniversary. The above events weren't part of Fathom Events though.

Jeez, The Quiet Man is the only thing here that hasn’t been done to death. Do something different! Put Footlight Parade on and I’d go in a heartbeat.

Agreed. The Fathom Events I went to this year looked like DVD era transfers. I was hoping for Blade Runner too. Shame.

Also, why show Poltergeist in September and not October? Silly.

The Paramount titles this year have been DCPs (My Fair Lady, Star Trek IV, and Scream) so The Quiet Man has a chance of being a DCP.

Yes, unfortunately, only a few of the screenings this year were DCPs. You could probably count them on one hand.

I would say the chances of a non-TCM branded Fathom Events screening of Blade Runner are very high if Warner doesn't re-release it in theaters themselves for the 40th anniversary next year.

Silence of the Lambs literally looked like a worn out VHS copy for the first 30 minutes. The opening credits were bleeding like a taped off of cable video.

Oh man, I hope so. I hope it's a DCP too. Blade Runner is one of the grails I need to catch in theaters before I die.
