I looked it up and this will be a limited release Oct 10, 2014 in US theaters. It looks pretty interesting and it only has a $15,000,000 budget. Looking forward to check it out.

This looks like a good one. I expect a wave of robot films in the next couple of years. Zombies have had their turn now it is the bots turn.

Looks like the offspring of I, Robot and Elysium. I'm game.

****! That looks badass. Looks almost like a direct sequel to i, Robot. Yeah, it's got a little bit of an Elysium look to it, but the robot designs alone look like i, Robot.

I saw this film at a preview screening several months ago at the Arclight. I strongly suggest you do NOT blind buy. Trailer looks good, concept is interesting, cool look to it, etc., but absolutely terrible film. One idea stretched out to an excruciating two hours of boredom. The entire packed audience couldn't get out of the theater fast enough when it ended (and they were supposed to stay to fill out audience-reaction questionnaires), and many had left before it ended. Normally I'd say that could be a sign of a really good film that doesn't appeal to the masses, but this is neither a Blade Runner nor an audience pleasing action film. Just generic crap. Melanie Griffith is in it for about 2 minutes (Banderas was one of the producers).

I think I read here somewhere or maybe reddit but this movie is based on the same source material as I robot I think I could be wrong.

Looks pretty interesting. Definitely got a heavy Blade Runner vibe(which is never a bad thing IMO).

Speaking of "robot films", I saw The Machine not too long ago, and was very impressed with it. Also had a Blade Runner vibe to it, especially the 80's synthesizer soundtrack!

To each his own, I really liked it. Saw it at a film fest last month in a close to packed house, people stayed, people applauded at the end, people stayed for the director Q & A.

It's a slow and deliberate film, more of a thinking piece than a sci-fi actioner.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. And now with it being only $15 on Amazon it's a fairly safe blind buy. I read that the robots were giant marionettes which sounds like a really inventive way of doing them. I'm interested to see how this technique turned out.

It starts off slow and deliberate, which was engaging and I had hopes, but after about 45 minutes it just turns into a very dull action-escape scenario ('sci-fi actioner' territory, which I absolutely hate) for the rest of its bloated running time. If you thought it was cerebral, great. But I think I'll go watch Tarkovsky's Solaris if I want to see a sci-fi film thinking piece, not Antonio trying to act all action-star.

As a sci-fi robot future type film fan, I thought it was a decent film. Not bad for its small budget. I wanted some sort of iRobot-Matrix uprising but it was pretty mild. The "bad guys" are pretty funny in a bad way. Seems like they were some mobsters from Jersey. Overall it's worth a watch. I could wait till it's half price to put this in my collection.

Yes, I too enjoyed The Machine and will probably pick up Automata. I like the futuristic style and robots are always fun.

Default No Multi-Lingual Soundtrack?

I was hoping for a multi-lingual soundtrack, particularly in Spanish.

This shows up with a 5 star rating under the cover image when you use the search bar. Looks like a full review is imminent and somebody liked the disc quite a bit.

I saw that as well. I have had it preordered from Amazon for sometime now so I will get the lowest price when it ships.

Well, the review is now live. However, the five star rating I saw earlier didn't hold up.
