I just picked up a Kindle Fire tablet, and I just noticed embedded youtube videos aren't showing up on the stock browser. This is due to Adobe officially dropping support for Flash on Android devices a few years back.
I think it would be great if the coding for the YouTube embed could be reworked so that it could support HTML5. Google has a page up where they suggest the best methods to implement their embeds. They suggest programmers use ifame, which adapts to whatever the user or device prefers https://developers.google.com/youtube/player_parameters Quote:

I second that. I'm using Opera on Windows with flash disabled.
Youtube works fine.. but on this forum the embeds don't work. Please consider it. Thanks ![]() |

I'm not sure if this was just added, but noticed a YouTube embed working on my tablet via HTML5. Thanks very much for adding this!
Edit: video appears to be fine, but there's no sound. Not sure if it's just my device ![]() Edit2: okay sound is working, but appears to be muted by default Last edited by MifuneFan; 05-21-2015 at 03:40 PM. |
