meh, unless it is filmed with IMAX in mind, what's the point? It is an intersting format but just putting movies up on the IMAX screen doesn't really impress me.

The Empire 25 in New York did get Mad Max on their IMAX screen (as the E-Walk booked Avengers). Also, the Chinese in Los Angeles and the Pacific Science Center in Seattle have Mad Max booked (source: IMAX.com).
Meanwhile, this deal isn't surprising. Warner Bros. and IMAX have been close for more than a decade (and Warner Bros. produces some documentaries solely for IMAX). However, I would like to see regulations be done where the same movie isn't playing on every IMAX in a city. There are many titles (such as nearly every Fox title that's been DMR'ed) that don't get IMAX runs domestically due to exclusive agreements with the company. This would have never happened during the prevalence of 70mm. Last edited by Buscemi; 05-17-2015 at 07:27 AM. |

IMAX preps the movie, so what is the issue? Regular theaters are not getting the IMAX version.
