United Kingdom Where the Buffalo Roam (1980) Fabulous Films

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Where...lu-ray/128088/

No cover yet, but released on the 27th April.

Fabulous Films seem to have decided to crank it up all of a sudden...

Hopefully it was the proper soundtrack but I doubt it.

Just got press release maybe it does "This off-the-wall comedy also boasts a musical score by rock superstar Neil Young (who has a cameo role) and a hit-crammed soundtrack featuring Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Temptations, The Pointer Sisters and Jimi Hendrix."

It's just been released on one of those 4 films on one disc jobs from Paragon in Germany, other films on the set are Sometimes A Great Notion, Three O' clock High and CB4. Very random!

So all the music-clearance rights have been taken care of for this release? I read a long while ago the original VHS release had all the original songs but multiple DVD releases had many substitutes. Nice if it's true!
Been ages since I've seen this and would make a perfect double feature with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, with Where the Buffalo Roam first.
From DVDCompare.net
Note: none of the DVD releases appear to feature the original soundtrack, which did appear on the VHS releases, no doubt due to rights issues.

Finally got around to checking out the blu-ray and sadly no it's the same generic 80s music and it looks like a upscale but a improvement over the old dvd.

The German BD features the original soundtrack and looks quite decent.

Not doubting you Dickieduvet, I just want to double-check this to make sure that the German release has the original songs. I've wanted this title for a long time with the original music, but I haven't stayed on top of any releases, probably because I figured the original wouldn't be heard again. Anyway, just wanted to make sure since I haven't been able to find anything else about this online and the Amazon.de listing isn't too helpful either (is this even the German release??)

amazon.de Where the Buffalo Roam

If this isn't the German version can anyone recommend a vendor? I don't think I have purchased any German blus.

Thanks for any info

That link is the UK version.

This is the German version (which according to this site is only in this 4-pack):
http://www.amazon.de/Action-Kracher-.../dp/B00QSRR8V8

(I can't help with the audio as I don't own it)

I've only ever seen it via the German disc but the flick opens with Neil Young singing the title track etc...

Presuming it's the original audio.

I don't believe that was altered. I have the Universal DVD and it opens with that still. Check the scene shortly after, right before he has an argument with his fax machine there's music playing on his radio. It's been a long time since I've seen this but I think that's the first scene in which they changed the music and I forget what it was originaly.

Yep, that's Bob Dylan, it's been confirmed in the German thread that it's the original soundtrack too
