EDIT: For clarification sakes, the steelbooks are already ordered and are in my "past orders" section. I wanted to know if I go and buy a Target Gift Card if I can then go back to my "past orders" section and apply said balance of that gift card to that purchase, effectively paying the order off, so when it comes time to ship it, it's paid for, and I won't be charged.
ORIGINAL POST BELOW: So I'm pre-ordering some Steelbooks from Target but they don't charge me until they ship (July 28th). I'd prefer to have this paid for right away so I don't have to worry about some phantom charge I don't remember autobilling me out of the blue (ESPN has done that twice in the last two years sending me in the red, despite me telling them to stop doing that and actually removing the billing agreement from Paypal). So I was thinking of getting a Target Gift Card for the amount of the steels and then just applying the card in full to the balance of the order. Anyone familiar with Target able to verify the ability to do this? I know on Amazon you can do it, I just really don't wanna buy this gift card and then find out I can't do this and be stuck with a gift card I'll never use.
