Well I know what I'll be doing on November 23....

....not watching a damn thing touched by Tyler Perry. It's bad enough he appeared in Star Trek. Why J.J., why!?

His movies are so terrible they shouldn't be allowed to be released on Blu-Ray!! Maybe they can be released on Beta-Max.....

What a terrible day. I tried to give a few movies a chance but they're all over the place. The title will have MADEA in it, yet it's barely about her and ends up being about someone else.

I never seen any of his films or plays and for some reason I just dont like the guy. That Madea character is terrible to me to. I may one day give his films a chance but I dont know when that day will be. I like some of the actors he used but its just sumthin about him. Also to the guy who said Madea is barely in the films, to me thats a plus haha. Got Em!!

His films are aimed at women, which is why the membership here is so enthusiastic about these releases.

Girl, but it kinda defeats the purpose of the movie. I saw Madea Goes to Jail, yeah she does go to jail but then it ends up being about a prostitute or something. Who is played by Keshia Knight (Rudy) from The Cosby Show, which is weird. And yeah it's good "she" isn't in it that much but still, the movies are all over the place. It's like they try to tell more than one story but they focus too much on one.

I may be in the minority, but I'm actually looking forward to all of these. Not only does this mean that all of his movies will finally be out on Blu-Ray, but we're also seeing the release of his latest play on Blu-Ray as well.

As for everyone mentioning about the lack of Madea in the Madea movies, I completely agree. I would suggest you check out any of his Madea plays for a whole lot of Madea. Not only are the plays longer, but they are some of the funniest stuff I have EVER seen. I used to be a Tyler Perry hater before (without seeing any of his films), but checked out five minutes of the play "Madea Goes To Jail" and laughed so much and so hard that the next day I went out and bought everything of his that was available...

None the less, I'll be buying everything of his that is coming out that day...

Wrong - his films are just appreciated more by women, but his films are actually a lot about men. Of course, his movies are also obviously geared toward the African-American audience. I've seen almost all of his films and other than 'Diary of a Mad Black Woman' and possibly Meet the Browns (which altho about a single Mom, there is a lot dealing w/ her relationship w/ her young grown son), I would say they are mostly about men.

Madea is LOL FUNNY! Not only that, but so many of his movies had me crying w/ Madea or not, like the first 'Why Did I Get Married' - I remember the whole theater was in an uproar laughing!

Why Did I Get Married is a fantastic movie (and I'm neither black nor female). I do have a DVR recording in HD from this, so I guess I won't upgrade. (Although the price is quite good).

Yeah, how men "wrong" women. Cheating on them, leaving them to raise a child alone, etc. His films might be about men, but he panders to the female audience that eats this stuff up. He's one of Oprah's "golden boys" for a reason.

The only movies of his I've seen are Madea's Family Reunion and Madea Goes to Jail.

I thought Family Reunion was hilarious, but I'm not a fan of the more serious drama parts of the movie.

Madea Goes to Jail is the same case, just less funniness so I would never watch it again.

I wouldn't buy his films but I am able to sit down watching them which is not something I'll say about every film.

Thank goodness we'll have BTTF, the Alien Anthology and Toy Story 3 to keep up busy so we won't even have to think about this horrible day.

I bet Lionsgate isn't calling over 50 million dollars in sales per movie on average for low budget films "in the minority".

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchi...tylerperry.htm

Perry is 3 of Lionsgate's top 10.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/studio/...=lionsgate.htm

I personally don't understand the hate.
