Exclamation Advanced Search Escape Char

Is there an escape character for the Title field in the advanced search form?

For example:

I want to search for "The Horse's Mouth" (notice the apostrophe)

If I search for the title verbatim, no results are returned.

The returned search string from the system is: "The Horse\'s Mouth" (notice system supplied backslash).

If I use the backslash as an escape char in the query form, no result is found.

If, however, I search for "The Horses Mouth" (notice No apostrophe) then a result is matched.

So, my question is: How do I pass the proper string; i.e., what is the correct escape character or correct syntax?
