Blu-ray Guru

The last few weeks, I've watched some very good shows on DVD and have been disappointed at the lack of Blu-rays. These include shows that channels have really been pushing such as Sky 1's The Smoke, and ITV's The Widower. Right now I'm watching the Shetland: Series 1 & 2 DVD set which comes out on Monday (check discs) and am once again disappointed at the lack of Blu-ray.
A while ago I ended up with Broadchurch on DVD but then that finally got a Blu-ray release after good sales figures. I would think these shows are decent sellers looking at Amazon's sales ranks (Shetland is #11 overall right now for example), but yet DVD only repeatedly. I expect it to happen reasonably often as it does with films, but it actually seems to be a rarity that TV shows that are not big American shows are getting HD releases and I'm becoming more disappointed every time. /rant. |
