Default Best way to compress PS Eye Video

Hey-- I've got a clip of me and my friend playing music, but it was 8 minutes long. It'd be nice to upload it to youtube or some type of site for sharing, but it's 300 megs.

I use Adobe Premiere to edit videos, but unfortunately MPEG-4 is not a supported type. Anyone have a recommendation as to what I should use to compress the video? I was planning on cutting it in half as well.

I can't stand when people do that on youtube. It is so annoying to have to watch 2 or 3 or 4 different videos. But unfortunately that may be all that is possible. I mean trying to compress down a 300 meg file to suit for youtube viewing to a managable file size is going to have to have some SERIOUS compression! I don't know if that they even make that type of compression software available for personal use...maybe on the commercial side though.

Yeah-- that's how I felt. I don't want to put up 3 or 4 videos... I just want the beginning of the jam. So I guess I want an editing program that will accept MPEG-4 more than I want a compression program. That way I can cut out the other 75%.

It's a shame the PS Eye editing software is completely horrible. They might as well not have even included it.

Yeah, it's a shame. You would think with the popularity of youtube that some company hasn't released or at least announced they are in the development of a software suite that allows for a high level of compression for just this purpose (not just for the sake of the PS Eye but for youtube and user-created content in general).

For anyone interested-- I found out that Nero has a built-in editor. I'm using that now, and it looks like it will work well for what I'm trying. Hopefully they've got as many options as Premiere for compression.

Hopefully the PS Eye will get an update to take advantage of the new DivX capabilities being built into the PS3.
