Default Blu-ray disc

Do you really need a dvd blu-ray burner to write on blu-ray disc. What type of dvd blu-ray disc is on the market to used? Whats makes this type of disc better that the dvd+r and dvd-r disc?

Blu-ray, for PCs is a bit cost prohibitive at this time. You do get 25GB or 50GB of storage space instead of 4.7 and 9GB of storage space from DVDs... single layer/dual layer respectively.

The biggest aspect of Blu-ray right now is the distribution of movies at high definition quality instead of standard definition quality which is all DVD video discs can possibly deliver from your DVD player.

Eventually, you may be able to record television programs to Blu-ray Disc at full HD quality.

with some of the recorders being shown, i think the idea is to DVR something in hi-def and then burn it to a BR disc.
