I just ordered a Blu-ray, chose No Rush shipping, and this is the new promo they're running. The party is over, for now at least. Need some groceries?
![]() Choose FREE No-Rush Shipping and we’ll automatically apply a $5.99 Prime Pantry credit to your account once your order ships. You can use this credit by logging on to Amazon.com or browsing your Kindle device. Fill up your Prime Pantry box with items you want to purchase, and we’ll automatically apply the credit at checkout. Offer redemption requires customers to be in the U.S. This No-Rush credit expires on May 31, 2015. Terms and Conditions apply. |

Some of the older ones I have are expiring as early as Mar 31. I think the only way you can tell is by checking the email you get for each one. I have no idea what to get, as I'm no longer a big reader. Maybe some mp3's.

Grocery store type items. Its a newer 'branding' term by them.

I'd be curious to know also, but I really hope not. I always placed separate orders to accumulate $1 credits quickly. I currently have $35 in credits to burn.

To be 'safe', I try to space my orders out by an hour or more or maybe wait until the next day. Who knows if they monitor this, but I don't want to get on their bad list.

Depends on how many orders I had outstanding. If it was just 1 then I'll usually get it in 2-3 days. Anything more and they hold them to ship together. They tend to use more reliable shipping when I put no rush. Usually fedex or usps. When I chose 2 day they like to send by Ontrac. You can read about the terrible service ontrac has in posts on consumerist and the Amazon forums. I discovered if I choose no rush I get the item nearly the same time plus no Ontrac.

We've got like 17 Amazon distribution centers here in Indiana, so even when I would select the No Rush shipping, my stuff would generally still get here in the same 2 days. Hell, even my non-Prime friends get their stuff in 2-3 days. I'm pretty much convinced that to get deliveries in MORE than two days, Amazon either piles that stuff up in their warehouses in a "take this tomorrow, not today" penalty box, or they tell their drivers to go hit an enroute casino.
So I'm a little sad to see the $1 credit going away... it didn't really delay anything for me, and it was a nice way to save-up to buy stuff from their overpriced Instant Video catalog. Curently saving up to get MXC Season 5, since that season was never available on DVD. Last edited by KenBuzz; 03-27-2015 at 01:56 PM. |
