I'm in for Awakenings. One of Robin Williams' best films.

Random Hearts was right about when I stopped saying things like 'it's Harrison Ford, how bad could it be'.

Six Days Seven Nights didn't give you pause a year earlier?

As for Awakenings' cover art, it makes it look like a buddy comedy.

Lol. That's exactly what I was thinking at first glance. Kinda like a " The Bucket List" type of cover.

Re: Awakenings

It's pretty clear that Sony does not employ actual graphic designers on-staff. For over a decade now, they've had these silly photoshops that any 10-year-old could improve upon in minutes.

I don't get it. They're paying someone to put these together. Why not at least hire a pro who isn't going to just slap floating heads on top of the theatrical poster?

Ah, must be part of that new deal w/Image.

Still Sony has a pretty bad track record with covers themselves...

They're from Image Entertainment (Image has them on their website, Sony does not)

I love "Awakenings" but even in it's threatical release the film was soft and grainy (not the type of quality which usually looks great on blu-ray)

I would guess the "A" titles will come from SONY (Lawrence of Arabia, Oliver)

Other titles Image is releasing on DVD this month: (Could the blu-rays be far behind?)
A Soldier’s Story
Stir Crazy
Butterflies are Free
California Suite
Nothing in Common
And Justice for All
The Jagged Edge
Absence of Malice
Hollywood Knights
Blind Date
The Fisher King
See no Evil, Hear no Evil
The Collector
American Pop

also added "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice"

Maybe. In the press release a few months ago they indicated Absence of Malice, And Justice for All were coming to Blu ray. I'd love to have California Suite on Blu ray. Also Murder By Death and The Cheap Detective while they are at it.

The Age of Innocence, People vs, Larry Flynt, Red Rock West and To Die For should be added to the list.

Regards,
Agree with that.A reviewer (Was it Maltin?) who said it was an interesting misfire.Absolutely agree with that. Also like the performance of Woods here. It's a gem of a role, one which he has repeated ad nauseum, but here it's spot on.

Also one of my guilty pleasures is Devils advocate with Pacino.I know it's bad and cliched, but it contains a breathtaking scene which I never gets tired of.

I actually saw Against all Odds for the first time a few weeks ago, I bought the VHS for 2 bucks at a pawn shop, and I thought it really sucked. Woods was good though.

Wow, Awakenings. I never thought I would see that on Blu-ray soon. It's a great movie, though, and since it's a Sony release, a great Blu-ray too, probably. I do hope they will make some effort in the supplements department, since the DVD was lacking that. With this subject matter there must be some interesting material they can come up with.
