Not sure if many of you surf the HD-DUD forums (I do it for entertainment), but this thread certainly shows their mentality changing... Maybe they started reading "HDM for Dummies"... who knows...

In reading the thread I don's see fear? I see talk of money and talk that if the red team looses oh well. But I don't see where there is fear. They are still talking about the red team still being in this and they are waiting like the rest of us until the new year. As many have said on this site. A decision "might" be made come January at the CES show.
We on the blu team need to keep doing what we are doing, buying movies and supporting our format. |

Old video game conventions dictate that player 1 is blue and player two is red. Maybe none of them ever played contra.

I like how the typical DUD-er denial and "logic" kicks in.
Somehow Warner is relegated to a status of just not being that important and as long as we wish upon a star and think good thoughts, HD-DVD will do just fine even if Warner goes all Blu. It's pitiful enough I can't even laugh at it. ... Y'all didn't buy that, did ya? ![]() |

Aside from "WB is definitely supporting red, going red" which is also a prevalent theme at HighDefDigest...nothing new really. The red side is utterly convinced that WB will be 100% red, aside from a few heads who who are trying desperately to think.

My prediction: If Warner goes Blu-ray exclusive next year, Toshiba will come to the table and begin producing Blu-ray compatible players by the end of 2008. Yep, that quick. They will find themselves in the same predicament Sony held in the early 1980s when they folded the tent on the Beta format and started producing VHS players. Then the brick and mortar retailers begin to pull the plug to make room for blu-ray. I've seen it all before. I owned and operated two video stores in the Phoenix area while attending college way back when MTV still played music. Microsoft has deep pockets, but not enough to convince Warner to kill a potential cash cow for the next ten years. Their library is too extensive. The only option that gives high definition media a chance to succeed is if they go with Blu-ray. Fox, MGM, Disney and of course Sony are simply too entrenched and the electronics manufacturers are lined up behind Blu-ray as well. Paramount had to be paid off and Universal will ***** itself faster than a street walker. Choosing HD DVD prolongs the agony. The studios would be evenly split, consumers would remain indifferent and retailers would grow weary of stocking under-performing software. You don't have to be a psychic to see how Warner must be leaning. They can end this war by summer 2008 and get on with the business of promoting high definition Blu-ray discs to a much more receptive public. This is why I refuse to buy any HD DVD media ...and I own a Toshiba HD A1. Last edited by AaronSCH; 12-09-2007 at 06:37 PM. |

The post itself isn't bad, but the comments... "HD-DUD" and "HDM for Dummies". Why not just debate on the merits of Blu-Ray rather than ad hominem attacks? My apologies for throwing this out in your thread, but I've read about 5 posts like this in the past 20 minutes and it makes me want to poke my eyes out. Let us all try to make this the go to site for all those interested in Blu-ray, and seriously discussing it. And, let's not require them to have to bleed Blu to be here. Gary |

mshulman made an asinine comment...
he said we only buy when there is a BOGO ![]() I buy when I want a title...a lot of people on this website part-take in BOGO's...but we are just a small portion of the Blu community... Best Buys in my area get hit up like crazy for Blu's and they don't really have any BOGO's until today... he made his comment based on an internet perspective...which is really only a small portion of the Blu community, much like the AVS community that lives on Amazon where the sales there look better than ours at times...but we come out ahead in weekly sales on a consistent basis.. |

This is what I hope happens: I hope people like these really believe the delusional BS they spout and that others like them believe it, too. I want them to believe all this crap right up to the point the big bomb drops on them out of nowhere, like in a month maybe? That's going to be beautiful to watch. ![]() |

denial is a beautiful thing.....when you're watching it from the outside... the one thing that BOGO's do is make Blu-ray addictive... I know people who a year ago said "I don't care about high def"... then they purchase a PS3...and I let them borrow a few Blu-rays and they purchase a few movies.. and then they say stuff like "I can't watch standard def anymore".. it's true...high def is addictive...and when things are made convenient for you...like great studio support, it becomes addictive.. |
