Unhappy Airheads blu-ray

Anyone know why airheads was disconntined from blu ray. I'm trying to track a copy down but the prices are so high. Because it's out of print why does this make this so pricy. It's not like it's rare sort after movie just another comedy. Anyone shed any light on this.

Ya I found out about this not too long ago, really regret not buying a bunch of the catalog Starz/Anchor Bay releases.
It’s not just Airheads basically any catalog movie on Blu-ray released by Starz Anchor Bay is OOP and selling for ridiculous prices.

Dang, as I am trying to watch every theatrical film from certain films, I'm on 1993, 1994 is next...and I am trying to add Blus of all the dvds I had to sell way back when to get them back in the collection. I'll just keep looking through all my used stores for it. Airheads will be one for1994.

I found the Ace Ventura duo set yesterday for $8.99 and that's going for crazy Ebay prices too. If you don't mind buying one used.

It's simple supply and demand. Out of print, so no more copies available at retail. With most copies out there in the hands of fans who want to keep them, the demand for the few remaining copies floating around goes up. The movie itself has cult appeal due to the cast (one of Adam Sandler's first movies, Chris Farley, etc.), the hard rock music connections, plus it was a popular renter back in the 90s so there's a lot of nostalgia for it.

Yeah, the Anchor Bay titles that seem to go for the most money are movies which people wouldn't rush out any buy, but are gradually getting around to wanting for whatever random reason. "The Scout" (written by and co-starring Albert Brooks) is another one.

A few of the out of print AB releases are available to purchase or d2d on Vudu. Airheads sadly is not though.

You can occasionally get lucky if you're willing to watch shopgoodwill for OOP discs. I got Willow from there in like new condition for 40, a little higher than I would have liked but better than some of the ebay prices.

I picked up Airheads from a place in Seattle for less than $8.00 back in October. They are out there, just keep your eyes open.

I've gone to 5 thrift stores every week for at least 10 years. I've only found one OOP bluray. Lots of OOP DVDs but only one BLu in hundreds of hours of shopping.

Better off looking for a better or second pt job and pay eBay prices than go that route. And if they charged $40 for a bluray title no matter which one, you found the worst thrift store around.

I'm in the same boat, been looking for Airheads for about a year, no luck. It's frustrating to say the least.

Good Will prices their DVDs and Blu-rays based on what they sell for on the Internet, rather than the standard "blanket low price" of smaller thrift stores.

I had to watch my Airheads DVD a few weeks ago since the blu-ray is impossible to get. It looked surprisingly good, was a small consolation

He's not referring to going to the actual thrift stores, but buying from their ebay listings online... which wouldnt require spending hundreds of hours scouring the stores...

This would be a fun one to have as a collector's edition. Like Mallrats, this was one of those movies I was really pumped to see as a little kid and opening weekend there were like five people in the auditorium on a Friday night.

She. And I meant goodwill's own auction website, not the store. Anymore, they ship all donations of value to the stores that know how to use the internet.

Willow goes for upwards of 80 bucks, so I consider 40 a fair price.

I used to watch the heck out of this on VHS when I was a teenager,I am 42 now,but haven't watched it in awhile. It's been on the Starz channel alot the past couple of weeks.so I've been watching it alot again.I'm pretty sure I have it on DVD,but wanted to upgrade to Blu-Ray,and then seen the high prices and got bummed out.It would be nice if someone would release a 25th anniversary edition since it is that old now...and now I feel old,HaHa!!!

There was a Spain release that came out in August of last year, I have no idea if it's Region A friendly:
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Airheads-Blu-ray/223861/

I saw two going for $80 and change on eBay. If you want it that bad pay the fine and go home as they say. This is getting impossible to find anywhere.

Hopefully Shout get's this.

That's Denny speculating on his part. Shout currently has a Fox deal (one they managed to get before the merger was finalized) and "Airheads" seems like a title Shout would re-release.
