France Day of the Triffids 16:9 remaster (France)

http://www.amazon.fr/La-Révolte-Trif...S8T8DWNQXYKC8V

3rd June, 2014

Sidonis is the distributor. This film's original negative was photo-chemically restored a few years ago and a new print was made and shown in the USA, but but no home video edition has appeared. It'll be interesting to see what this French edition looks like.

It is 16x9 2.35:1...

This film has always received horrendous home video releases and this edition may finally be a very good edition, outside of the restored negative being scanned at 2K or higher and released on Blu.

As a kid in the 80s, I wore out a VHS copy that featured nothing but sci-fi trailers from this era - "Them", "War of the Worlds", etc. - and I loved watching this trailer over and over. So much so, that my brother and I used to play a game in the backyard where we would use a go-kart to escape from the "triffids" (large sunflower plants). Yet, I've never seen the movie. Definitely going to keep an eye on this, and thanks for the info Sir Henry!
