Default PS3, Sharp LC37D62U, Video Problem

I have my PS3 connected to this set via HDMI for video and audio. Whenever I change to Video 5 to use the PS3 I get massive static/glitches... green lines and static appear along with a static sound. This "static/glitch" also happens when the screen switched between XMB to DVD, Game, Blu-ray, etc. I'm sure that this is do to switching between 1080p, 480p, etc. Lately it has started to cut out completely, video and audio, for a few seconds at a time. It eventually goes away, but it's insanely annoying, and I'm concerned it will get worse.

The PS3 is flawless on my rear project downstairs, so I'm not sure if it's a faulty HDMI. If anybody is having, or knows how to correct this, please let me know.

In advance, Thank You Kindly.

I've had that exact model for the past year with a PS3 hooked up to it and can't really recall experiencing this issue. The sound doesn't come over the HDMI, but goes to my receiver via optical. I think I've maybe seen a sort of graphical glitch you mentioned when it's forced to change resolutions but it's only for a split second and all is okay again.

Of course, I doubt anything I've said is all too helpful but I thought I should share my own experiences.
