This might be a dumb question but I have to ask........ For playing blu-rays on the Ps4, will the picture quality be better than PS3 or will it be the same?

There is no possible way any of us can answer that question since none of us have the units in hand.

An educated guess would be that the PS4 will play bluray a just fine.

How can it play it play Bluray better? Faster perhaps...loads faster, definitely. As for video, all players have a standard but I guarantee the PS4 won't be as good as an oppo which has video processors and films specifically for Bluray playback. I would imagine that the PS4 can play 4k Bluray and 100/200gb disks but that's about it.

I was curious about this as well but prefer my Oppo PQ over PS3. No it is not a dumb question. I will definitely be doing PQ comparisons once I get my hands on it.

Most users will agree that the PS3 matches the Oppo for video quality when it comes to Blu-ray playback. DVD upscaling is where the Oppo stands out. The PS3 is no slouch, so give credit where it's due.

In no way do I see the PS3 as a poor Bluray player. Quite the opposite really as I find it to be the best player on the market (In terms of price, performance and features). But I have seen both the PS3 and OPPO 103 on the same projector, playing the same film and I did notice the OPPO was a tad stronger. Might of been just the film, maybe i have super eye vision, but it was there. To normal people though, including myself, the PS3 in strong but it can't be improved without altering the price. Hence the reason why the OPPOS are $1k plus (with the exception of the 103).

Watching a bluray and there's a white line going through top of my tv, anyone experience this?

I wouldn't even use this system to play Blu's. The way the disc goes in and out like it does can easily cause scratches.

My ps3 does so much more then the ps4 does I think I can wait till it catches up to the ps3.

Because the PS3 has a tray, the PS4 you just slide discs in thus creating scratching.

THe PS4 does support 50Hz content, so that's a plus. i was able to play both

. But I'll stick with my oppo. I'm hoping that logitech does offer support for the PS4 for it's PS3 Harmony adapter. No reason why they shouldn't.

my PS3 is a slide loader...same as the PS4...and my disks were 100% fine.

Just threw in Drive to try it. Works great

You sure? I always worried there would be a problem but I might just sell my PS3 now.

Been using my PS3 for god knows how many years watching Blus with the slide in design...no issues

That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. There never was any scratching issue with slot loading drives (MacBooks, iMacs, PS3 phat, PS3 slim, car cd player, etc).

I was just wondering. My brother's car CD player screwed up a bunch of his CDs, and my grandpa's truck did the same thing so I was just curious.
