Default Buying Blu-ray Movies from Best Buy

Why are not all the movies that come out that week available in the store or on Best Buy.com? How long does it take for shipping thru best buy I live in the greater LA area

I have noticed that there seems to be a shortage of the Paramount titles and some of the others at Best Buy stores.

Maybe due to their promotion.

One thing I will say, I did the online buy pick up at store and really it is faster to just go to the store and buy the discs (assuming they have them).

The pick up process took longer IMHO than just paying for the item.

I haven't gotten a title in a store for quite a while. Too many good deals online.

DeepDiscountDVD has free (slow) shipping, so I usually will go their first. If its more than 1 title, I'll go with Amazon (free shipping above $25 order). Right now I have been abusing the $10 off $30 purchase coupon with Google Checkout using Buy.com and DVDEmpire. I also have an order into BestPrices.com.

But yeah, on a normal day I stick with DeepDiscountDVD and Amazon for sure.

I went to BB today to get Click and Aeon Flux. I knew that they wouldn't have 16 Blocks and Syriana yet, so I wasn't expecting those. But Sleepy Hollow, Sky Captain and Tomb Raider still haven't shown up from last week, although they are on order, so I assume its a delayed shipment from Paramount.

Best Buy is going to stop selling disc movies in their walk-in stores in 2024.
I thought they were making it obvious this was going to happen when about 5 years ago, they eliminated all of their large aisles of disc movies and dumped them into a tiny corner of the store back by the video games. It made going there to find older movies or rare movies pointless, as they no longer carried unique films on disc, and only had a much smaller selection, forcing a search in other stores or ordering discs online.

The consumer-electronics retailer will phase out sales of DVDs and Blu-ray discs both in-store and online in early 2024, according to industry sources familiar with the company’s plans. Best Buy made the initial decision to end DVD sales nine months ago, according to one source.
