Default What Screen Would You Recommend?

So it's finally happening, the wife and I are building and she has approved me to mack out the living room as my own little man cave. I've been jumping backwards and forward on getting a TV, or spending the cash on a top quality projector and decent screen.

Have decided that 65" OLED isn't big enough and the motion for sport on current LCD is just awful.

SO, projector and screen it is.

The room is 5x4m with 2550 ceilings. The ONLY light will be from windows at the back of the room, I've uploaded a picture of the of room direct from the plans. The screen will be on the hall, or the bottom of the image as you see it on here.

Haven't yet fully decided on the projector I'll get, it's between the Sony HW65ES, or JVC DLA-X7000, or possibly stretching the budget and going for the Sony VPL-VW320ES.

My main concern is what screen to go for. Will there be enough ambient light from the back of the room during the day to justify a Black Diamond Zero Edge? Or should I look at something like the EVP Darkstar 9 or Elite Screen Aeon 3D?

I am open to any and all suggestions, this is my one opportunity to get a set up that perfectly suits the room.

Just get blackout curtains and stick with a white 1.4 gain screen.

I reckon you get more accurate colour with white.

My blackout curtains let no light in at all.

Don't want to be closing the curtains during the day. Wife has made that a strict stipulation

I don't blame her! I like to open the blinds, and let the sunshine in during the day, which is why I watch my movies at night. I can't stand being in a room with no windows, or when the curtains or blinds are closed, because it makes me feel claustrophobic. Even whenever I go to a restaurant to eat, I always choose to sit by the window so I can see out.

Ohh!

I got ya. I thought it was a stand alone room. Not the main lounge.

Black Diamond screen it is then. Your only real option for projection.

Sweet. Now to source it from somewhere. Have decided on the JVC D-ILA X7000

That's a damn nice projector. Once you go to JVC contrast you won't look at anything else. I don't use the iris in mine. The native contrast blows everything else away. Then you don't get the dreaded pumping effect from dynamic irises.
