I'm having an issue with it.
When I download a game to the External Western Digital 2TB Hard Drive, I keep getting an error code telling me that the Data is corrupt. It tells me to turn off the system and try again. I do so and it still happens. I called Ninty this morning and they tried to help but the only thing they told me was not to redownload all of my old software at once... (This Unit replaces my old one) So, I did that and it is fine for the smaller VC games. But it still does it for the WiiU Retail Download games. So, now, I'm downloading with the External Hard Drive unplugged directly to the WiiU. Then I have to turn off the System, plug in the External Hard Drive and transfer over everything. Has anyone else had this problem? Here is the Model # for my Hard Drive: WDBACW0020HBK |

Some searches on Google.
https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...with%20wii%20u This link said to disable the Quick Start Menu. http://techforums.nintendo.com/thread/33152 I don't have a Wii U so I really can't help. If you had a XB1 I might lol. I'm thinking of getting a Wii U for my kid for Christmas though. They want to play Splatoon and Mario Maker. |

You could try to disable hard drive sleep mode on the Wii U.
In the System Settings go to "Data Management". Once there do not click on the on-screen buttons but instead hold down on the GamePad's D-Pad and the "+" and "-" buttons for a couple of seconds. Secret menu will appear letting you disable sleep mode. Has your hard drive external power supply? If it doesn't, a Y-cable may help (in case you don't already use one of those). |
