Happinet will release David Lynch's Dune (1984) on Blu-ray in Japan on August 4th, 2015, as a 30th Anniversary Edition.

It appears this release will include both the 137-minute theatrical cut, and a 189-minute TV version in 4:3 and possibly in SD resolution. There will be about 45 minutes of video extras, some of which will be in French. All extras will have DTS-HD MA 2.0 audio.

The edition on Amazon at the present time will also include a presently unknown amount of post cards as a pre-order bonus, but it is not indicated as an Amazon Exclusive.

【ストーリー】
西暦10191年、宇宙は皇帝シャダム4世の支配下にあった。惑星アラキスは、不老不死の薬物メランジが生 産される唯一の星であり、その覇権をめぐって皇帝は陰謀を画策していた。それを察知したスペース・ギルドの ナビゲイターは、皇帝のもとを訪れ詰問する。皇帝は、声をを増幅させて物質を破壊する兵器“モジュール"を 開発したレト・アトレイデス公爵をうとましく思い、一旦彼にアラキスを与えたうえで、公爵と敵対するハルコ ネン男爵をけしかけて失脚させようとしていた。だがナビゲイターは、公爵の息子ポール・アトレイデスこそが 、自分たちを脅かす存在だと言い、暗殺を命じる。
アラキスに降り立った公爵家は、ハルコネン男爵が手配した軍団から襲撃を受け、母ジェシカとともに砂漠へと 逃亡する。二人はアラキスの原住民であるフレーメンの集団に合流し、モジュールを与えて一大軍団を組織する 。巨大なサンドウォーム(砂虫)を操り、ポールはハルコネン男爵の軍を次々と壊滅してゆく。やがてフレーメ ンに伝わる“命の水"を飲んで超人化したポールは、皇帝に最後の闘いを挑む。
