I never thought she went away but I saw her in Spider-Man 3, the Help and 50/50.

She's been in smaller roles or a lot of direct to blu/dvd pictures. She's finally back in the spotlight with Jurassic World.

She didn't technically go away, but she's had a strange career path. She started out in a couple Shyamalan films(The Village, Lady in the Water) and then did a bunch of sequels in established franchises(Spider-Man 3, Terminator: Salvation, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and Jurassic World). And a lot of her roles she's gotten have been in place of another actress who dropped out(The Village, Manderlay, Terminator: Salvation, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse).

She's never really had a breakout role in any movie in over a decade. If you ask fans of hers what their favorite performance is, you'd probably get a bunch of different responses.

I remember seeing her in The Village all those years ago and I thought she was miraculous in it. Even though I won't be seeing it, in a way, I'm kind of happy that Jurassic World is making a bunch of money. 'Bout time she got a hit like this.
