Default Ju-On: Origins (Netflix Series)

Quote:
Released in 2000, Takashi Shimizu’s Ju-On: The Curse kick-started a J-horror franchise that spawned multiple follow-ups and an American-made remake franchise that received a brand new installment earlier this year. This coming summer, the original Japanese franchise returns with the Netflix series “Ju-On: Origins.”

“The J-Horror classic franchise Ju-On was actually based on real events that occurred over four decades – and the truth is even more terrifying. Can the people haunted by this house escape from its curse? And what kind of grim incident occurred in this cursed house in the past?”

“Ju-On: Origins” will stream only on Netflix from July 3, 2020. Source

I enjoy the Grudge franchise. I heard the latest American film was awful though.

I'm definitely looking forward to this!

You know one of my favorite things about this is that throughout all these movies, whether they're the Japanese ones or the American ones, the house generally looks pretty much the same each time. From some of the bits of this trailer it looks like they still haven't changed it.

Netflix should really add the Ju-On series to streaming or Ringu also sad that they are hard to find or get but Arrow released Ringu most of the series.

And after watching the trailer I can not wait for this TV Series and I assume the real events is based on murders that took in that house nothing else because isn't the rest made up? Plus it pretty much looks like the same murders from the Ju-On: Grudge movie.

Screaming Mad George did the special effects. Which makes this a must-see.

I watched all episodes. It's not bad actually, but it sadly has nothing to do with the original series, except for the cursed house. The series also relied a bit too much on shock factor
[Show spoiler] f.ex. there is a random rape scene which literally comes out of the blue
. I understand that filmmakers must find new ways to shock their audience, to keep a 20 years old horror franchise alive, but it was a bit too much for Ju-On imo.
But as I said, it's not bad, just don't expect the classic Ju-On you know.

The series is basically based on the Urban Legends of the Ju On movie which what inspired the Ju On movies or TV series's on like Slender Man but this Japanese urban legend is centuries old.

So far I only watched 2 episodes sucks that each episode is only 30 minutes but so far I am confused with the characters or timeline it just feels like everywhere.

Finished it 30 minute 6 episodes does not work too many stories trying to merge together and that really was a shitty ending it really just jumps all over and don't get when the man combusts are they trying to saying Past, Present and Future just collided together?

Ju-On: Grudge movie did a better job in merging the past showing the future after the father sees daughter in the house.
