Default Can I do better than 2x Athena AS-F1.2 for $100 CAD

Hello everyone,

I've recently moved into a new apartment and finally have the space to set up some kind of a semi-decent speaker setup.

I bought a Denon AVR 1513 (may have an Anthem MRX-300 soon) and want to set myself up with two speakers and a center channel. I do not want a sub because I have upstairs and downstairs neighbors and don't want to bother them. I do, however, want a reasonable amount of bass.

I don't know much about speakers, but my uncle has a home theater set up in his basement where he uses the more expensive Athena speakers in the front. I found a pair of the smaller versions (AS-F1.2) and was considering a pair @ $100 CAD total (Craigslist). They go down to 40Hz and I was wondering if this would be a reasonable amount of bass from these speakers and my Denon receiver? Does anyone have any experience with these speakers?

The tough part would be finding a center channel to match. If I can't find the Athena center channel since they are not made anymore, is there another that might go well with these?

Alternatively, is there a better idea for speakers with my budget and receiver? I am happy with 2 speakers for now and adding a center channel later.

Thanks!
