Samsung J5700, my first foray into BD, to go along with the J6700 screen I purchased in April. I suspect firmware updates get things a bit screwy. Only recently I noticed that with BD-Wise on, and playing a DVD (I still experiment with settings, and whether BD-Wise is worth the trouble at all) at 7-13 minutes in it is as if the HDMI cable was pulled off, I lose picture and sound. Perhaps a buffering; the play resumes, but in progress, not where it left off. This has happened on 2 different sets of TV series recently, I haven't seen it on true Blu-Ray discs, as I generally disable BD-Wise.
So as a test, I watched from both of those series last night with BD-Wise off. Both played just fine, no blackout. BD-Wise is probably more trouble than it's worth, but wondering if it is also the cause of the blackout. |
