Up to now I've used Fishpond for sourcing discs from Australia but this week I got a shock when for the first time I cancelled an order.
Purchased the Hammer movie The Nanny at £11.97. Changed my mind when it said it would be several weeks before I got it. So I cancelled it. Lo and behold, with the disc several weeks away they had actually taken payment when I ordered - apparently they do this all the time. I didn't realise that. They also refunded me only £6.97.Now while there was mention of a charge like 17% if the cancellation caused them problems I was surprised they charged me a full £5. Several emails and they are refunding me the £5 , probably because I placed the same order again the next day but please beware.I don't know of any other retailer who charges you for cancelling so if you are in any doubt about an order don't order from Fishpond. Up to now the orders I've made have all been trouble free, if a bit slow to arrive and one has got a customs charge too but I will be making sure I have no doubts about titles when I place future orders. Even now it says my order might arrive between the 15th and 30th March, yet they don't even have it in stock and they have also taken payment for it. Bad practices all round so I'll be going back to JB Hifi I think |
