Mozilla Thunderbird Problems, Please Help Me? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys, just downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and I am trying to connect it to my yahoo e-mail account, however, my problem is I do not know the exact incoming server type (POP, etc), server name, along with the outgoing server type and name?

I am not literate enough to know what to put, therefore, I require your help in setting up my e-mail account through Mozilla Thunderbird. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You should be able to get all that information from your internet provider's web page.

You need to start there...

What was your old mail program? Perhaps under the options of that you can find the information too...

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)

Account Name/Login Name: Your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")

Email Address: Your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., user@yahoo.com)

Password: Your Yahoo! Mail password
__________________________________________

In Thunderbird go to tools > account settings > add account

Choose email account - Then follow the prompts inputting the above information as it asks for it.
