Talking Moving Violations

I just watched this for the first time since the late 80's, and it was as funny as I remembered. Made me want to pull out some of my other 80's comedies and rewatch them. I had forgotten Bill Murray's brother was in this.

I bought this on DVD as part of a triple pack that also included License to Drive and Mischief. Since this was a very limited print I've seen that $15 collection go for $90 on ebay at one point. I sold Mischief (the kelly preston gets nekkid movie) for $40 last year and I think I got $50 for Moving Violations, but I will never under any circumstance sell License to Drive. I LOVE that movie way too much. But anyways Violations was alright, it was worth one watch but nothing special to me.

Just looked this up on Amazon. $249!!!

I like these movies, but damn. I guess I'll just watch my VHS copy and hope for a Blu-ray release at some point. I got it at a garage sale as a freebie along with Chopping Mall and Deadly Friend when I bought a few DVD's.

Haha yeah Amazon always has insane prices on out of print movies. That's something I do on the weekends, I have a list of the higest in demand out of print titles, and I hit up pawn shops and garage sales looking for them. I've found probably 20-25 titles that I paid $1 for and on average sold for $45. I figured thats a pretty good side project for extra cash.

For some reason Licence To Drive is fetching the most right now out of the three that were mentioned in the thread. 69.99 on Amazon, maybe beacuse of Corey Haim's death.

Yeah but I haven't seen too many titles actually move through Amazon at those prices. Ebay is the quickest way and usually will get you about $40 for those movies. License just went up a few more dollars following Haim's death, but it was also the best of those 3 films in the box set. I never get tired of License as it was a favorite of mine when I was 10 and it's still a favorite 15 years later. I watch it too often to sell it.

It seems like all the Fox DVD's that were issued by Anchor Bay are now OOP, a shame really. Hopefully Fox will reissue them themselves. I'll have to see what my copies of Race with the Devil and Heart Like A Wheel with collectable Hot Wheels car is worth. I also have sealed copy of Vanishing Point with Viggo Mortenson.

Yeah, and it sucks when a favorite movie of yours went out of print before you ever got to buy it. Hi-Lo Country is a big favorite of mine I was just never able to find before it went out of print, and paying $30 for a used standard DVD just seems too high to me. I will hold out hope that eventually it'll get a BD release. Than there are those other favorites that never even saw DVD release like the John Hughes film "Reach the Rock" I managed to only ever find it on VHS and I absolutely loved it, but even though it was released in the late 90's it never saw a DVD release which I always found really strange. I hope one day the entire John Hughes collection will get released. There are still several big titles of his without release.
