Very strange film. If you're a fan of David Lynch, you'll probably like this. I had this on DVD, a Japanese import I think. Looking forward to this.

Reading the Zavvi blurb it states: "First ever official release on Blu-ray anywhere in the world". That's a lie, I own a copy of the German Blu-ray.

I didn't know that. Starlight have released 17 titles, are they all unofficial or is The Reflecting Skin the only one?. That probably explains why the transfer is terrible, and the audio is pretty atrocious too.

After purchasing the Jarmusch and Reichardt sets, and being amazed by the quality of both, I'm pretty confident your Reflecting Skin release is going to be a stunner.

I'm pretty sure that other very ltd editions sold by Zavvi are either 1000 or 2000 copies. The Reflecting Skin may have less though, given that it's a fairly obscure film.

A while back I think someone said they rarely print steelbooks under 2000, but yeah 'ultra limited' implies more like 1000.

This film may not be everybody's cup of tea. If you like weird, arty, cult films and/or a David Lynch fan, this might be up your alley. Viggo Mortensen is great in it, btw.

I've seen a few Steelbooks with a limited run of 1000 units, like the Back To The Future Trilogy for example, but they also do an 'ultra limited print run' where they don't actually state how many copies they're selling. I reckon it will be the latter.
