Unhappy Former Soap Star Nathaniel Marston Dies at 40 from Car Accident

Former Soap Star Nathaniel Marston Dies
by Hope Campbell
November 11, 2015

Former soap star Nathaniel Marston passed away Wednesday night after injuries suffered during a horrific car accident on a Reno, NV highway October 31.

He was riding on a Reno highway last weekend when police believe he fell asleep at the wheel and “over-corrected” when he woke, causing his pickup to flip over, eventually killing him.

The 40-year-old Marston came to daytime fame back in 1998 as Eddie Silva on "As the World Turns". However, it was his role as Al Holden on "One Life to Live" that truly endeared him to fans.

After Al was killed, the audience revolted, forcing OLTL to bring him back as look-alike Dr. Michael McBain. Marston spent six years on the ABC soap.

Marston’s mother, Elizabeth Jackson, confirmed tonight on Facebook that her son died peacefully today with friends, family, and his priest by his bedside.

Since the post tonight, Jackson’s Facebook page has been flooded with well wishes combined with deep sadness. His mother thanks his friends and fans for their outpouring of love since the accident and Soap Shows wishes the family our sincerest condolences.

Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news. My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries.

Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms. Father William, myself and his second Mommy Lisa, and our dear friend Charlotte were by his bedside, he was not alone. His injuries, which Dr.’s did their best to heal were not responding to treatment and one after another his bodily functions failed to support his life.

Had Nathaniel lived he would have required a ventilator and would never have been able to utter one more word and would have been sentenced to life as a quadriplegic. A condition that Nate would have never have been able to tolerate. By Gods love and mercy Nathaniel was spared this living hell and has traveled on to be with God, his cherished Grandmother Mary Jackson, Grandfather John Jackson and my sister his Aunt Nora….

God is merciful and because of his mercy God ended Nathaniel’s pain and suffering at 3:15 today PST in Reno, NV. Nathaniel now lives with Father God, surrounded with peace, love and light. Know that I am deeply grateful for all of you for taking this tragic two week journey with me Nathaniel and our family.”

Marston's recent roles include guest appearances on "White Collar", "Castle" and "Blue Bloods".

He also had a small role in the 1996 feature film The Craft.
