A true American Icon, a war hero and one of Hollywood's greatest leading men, Jimmy Stewart had that unforgettable drawl, the tall slender boyish charm, and a down to earth everyman quality that resonated with audiences for decades. He appeared in all time classics of various genres and was a favorite of legendary directors like Hitchcock, Capra and Mann. And seeing that this is the Christmas season, let's celebrate his wonderful life and filmography by picking his best work.
THE CANDIDATES
I tried to narrow it down to a Baker's Dozen, so my apologies to fans of other classics such as Bell Book and Candle, Broken Arrow, The Far Country, The Spirit of St. Louis, The Glenn Miller Story, Call Northside 777, Mortal Storm, Flight of the Phoenix, etc. See also: The Best of Beatty The Best of Redford The Best of Holden The Best of Walken The Best of Newman Last edited by Mrdamron; 12-21-2015 at 03:38 PM. |
