I've been waiting for years for someone to release this wonderful film on blu-ray. I hope there will be an option to turn off the German subtitles.

You don't have to worry about that. Forced subtitles is a thing in France.
I think there is only one exception in Germany: The 13th Warrior.


P.S.: Waking Ned Devine doesn't have English subtitles.

I have imported two blu-rays from Germany and both have forced German subs - The Four Feathers, and Sahara.

I love this movie to bits and have been waiting forever for an announcement. I hope a UK/US release will follow. That non-anamorphic US DVD was a travesty.

Hi stratford. Kind of you I'm in India and region free. I know the German releases don't usually include English subs (I just prefer buying the versions with English subs) but if it's the only option, I will go for it as this is one of my absolute favourite films. If you could kindly let us know the picture quality on this one, that would be highly appreciated. Many thanks

So I can make a reasonable picture review when the time comes, how big is your screen, I have 40 inches?

Because Waking Ned is one of two titles in one order, it won't be here till mid july

Jafar My German release of Waking Ned arrived safely. To make the picture/ Sound comparison, I used the beginning where the old boy is in his arm chair watching the lottery program. There is a blunt improvement on the Blu.

English Audio is played with out subtitles of any kind
The only subtitles are German and optional

The movie is locked to region B

Jafar at 13 Euros the title is quite cheap, and you'd be challenged not to discern an improvement in the picture especially. It is hard to go wrong.
The only extras are some trailers in German
