I paid $24.99 at Best Buy a few months ago. Glad I have it, but I didn't expect it to drop below $20 so quickly...

Confession: I've never seen any episodes of Tales from the Darkside.

How good is this show as compared to Tales from the Crypt?

Similar, but they're in the same vein (no pun intended)...Anthology TV thriller/horror:

-The Twilight Zone
-The Outer Limits
-Friday the 13th (The TV Series)
-Amazing Stories
-Masters of Horror

...Some are more horror, and some more sci-fi/thriller. I love them all.

Being a huge classic horror fan with many favorites between the 70s - 90s, I was curious about this set for a long time but didn't really want to do a blind buy when it was more expensive. However this is a good jump in price for me so I ordered a copy to add to my growing horror collection.

I would recommend ordering through Best Buy. Got my Amazon set and they took off the slipcover, discs were dislodged and scratched, etc. Amazon loves to save that penny on shipping weight by taking away slipcovers these days on most items.

I think it plays a lot less comic booky, which could be good or bad depending on taste.

Also, worth noting for those who care, I believe these DVDs have significant music replacement.
