Default Do people actually like BD-Live?

To me it just comes off as spam, especially on the Universal Studios discs. It took about 3 or 4 minutes just to play "Drag Me To Hell" with all the FBI/DRM warnings, BD-Live connections, unskippable trailers and menus...and I'm using a PS3 which is one of the faster BD players.

Forgot to mention how you need to register a login name, and password for EVERY studio. Many of them have different requirements for usernames, so many of them are different from my usual username...which makes remembering names and passwords a lot harder.

I dont see it as 'spam,' I see it as a good idea that needs to be developed on. Right now, it is a very basic feature that doesnt offer much but if you think about the bigger picture and what could be done, I think it has real potential.

I want them to use it to give us features that aren't available on DVD and maybe to give us some kind of bookmarking feature. Would take up a bit more memory on the PS3 hard drive but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make to get that.

I like it so much that I don't even use it. I even went so far as to have a 1.1 profile player instead of a 2.0 player in my main home theater.

Haven't actually used it. Doesn't seem all that interesting to me, to be completely honest.

It's definitely a cool feature, but mostly underdeveloped I think. I last used it on my Ponyo bluray in March...and learned James and the Giant Peach was coming out. They had a nice HD trailer and all.

Same for me. I understand the idea behind it but it just doesn't hold any interest for me. I watch less and less of special features now, only a few movies still attract me on special features, like Criterion and such

I use it to register my Sony discs in the event I actually use the points for one of the overpriced discs they have for redemption. I sat in on the Christopher Nolan chat for The Dark Knight and thought it was pretty lame.

I think it's worthless, so I find it odd that some companies use it as a selling point.

I like the concept a lot, but have been underwhelmed by the execution. The BDA really should have standardized a single login and portal with sections that studios can customize to their liking.

If the studios primarily are interested in BD-Live as a marketing tool, then they really missed the boat. In order to draw me onto BD-Live to market to me, you have to offer content that is worthwhile. Few studios have done that so far.

I don't have my Profile 2.0 player hooked up to the Internet. I'm just interested in watching movies.

Same here. Because of that I don't even bother with it most of the time.

it depends on the movie. most studios seem to think i want to wait and download bdlive that promotes thier other movies. i dont want to watch trailers. i can watch them in the net and at a faster speed. what i do want it things like the star trek box sets have, additional content that has to do with the movie i purchased.
